The Purpose of Life?? I think…
I live for the sake of experiencing myself in the fullest glory. My final end is God. I believe that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience. I believe that we are God divided in itself, to know itself experientially what it knew conceptually, in this realm of physicality, to experience the full glory of who we are. Everything I say and do is attendant to that function.
This function of life is eternal, and reinforcing. The moment I experience myself in the fullest glory, I get a glimpse of an even higher glory that is in my infinite range of possibilities. This journey of glory that I traverse is immortal. In a way, my final end has no end. To assume an end to this path towards glory is to assign a limitation onto God’s boundless omnipotence. The more I am, the more I can become, and the more I can become, the more I can yet be. It is a never ending cycle.
In order to experience my fullest glory my soul must experience itself. My soul is omniscient, it knows all that is to be known, all of the time. There is no unknown. But knowing is not enough. The soul seeks to experience itself.
My soul has knowledge of bare concepts. Knowledge without experience is philosophy and experience without knowledge is ignorance. In order for the soul to experience its fullest glory it needs both knowledge and experience. For example, I can understand what kindness is, but until I act kindly towards others, I will not know if I am kind. In order for the soul to experience itself, it must act, and in doing so it can become acquaintances with the fullest glory.
Striving to experience myself in the fullest glory is an act of remembrance. I must dive inward and remember who I am, under the cultural conditioning and societal beliefs that have been compounded onto me. Experiencing myself in the fullest glory means a constant path of improvement and self-growth in all areas; emotionally, spiritually, and physically. This doesn’t mean I need to start changing a lot of things, but it does mean that there are a lot of things I need to start to embody. It means embodying things like love, abundance, grace, purposefulness, wholeness, diviness, chosen, patience, empathy, energy, and gratefulness. Essentially any quality that you would attribute to God is a quality that is a product of the fullest glory. Although these qualities can not be attained. They can only be revealed. They are already in my possession. My soul has all of the answers I am looking for, I just have to look within. As I traverse this inward path of self growth, and continue to experience myself in the fullest glory, I return to myself which means I return to God, because God is within me.
God can never be bad because God is the source of life and creation itself. God is supremely perfect, infinite, true and good. Like in Descartes Meditation 3, he questions whether he is something greater than he himself understands because all of these perfections that he is attributing to God are somehow in him potentially and are not actualized. Ultimately, I think life is about remembering who you truly are, and then implementing that knowledge to experience yourself in the fullest glory to reunite with God which inadvertently means reuniting with yourself.
